Day 10: Making Progress

Since I last checked in I have:
  • not had ANY soda!
  • Started and completed two days on Couch to 5K (and then some!)
  • Have severely cut down on sugars and *bad* carbs
It seems small but these changes have been major for me. I already feel like I have a ton more energy!

These fruit skewers have been my new bff - any time I want a snack or something sweet I have been turning to them. Easy, delish and healthy! Keeping lemons around really helps with my water intake. Cutting down on caffeine is usually really hard for me but water with lemon has been my saving grace. It has really helped me stay away from soda AND get more H2O in!

Having a running stroller and the sun shield has really helped with getting out and exercising. Trey has been an absolute trooper adjusting to my new workout schedule.

But, I will say though the C25K app on my iPhone has been the best thing of all! First off, it's only $3 and you can use it without headphones (I like to keep my focus on my surroundings and Trey now that I have a baby with me). The program talks you through everything - it says run, walk, cool-down, half way through, you can journal about your run, you can publish to twitter or facebook. It's awesome! I used some of my cool down time today to do long lunges through the grass and I am sure that I will be paying for it tomorrow!!

Day 6: Week Recap

Good:
  • Drinking a TON more water
  • Walked a BUNCH this week! With Trey in the Baby Bjorn and the BOB (alternated so he didn't get bored, teething has been a bear this week)
  • Have been eating lots and lots of fruit and veggies!
  • Slowly giving up dessert in the evening
  • Used some self-tanner
  • Bought some new clothes that I actually feel semi-cute in! Also picked up some new workout gear
  • Picked up some new make up, not helping with the weight loss but definitely gives me an extra little bounce in my step!
Bad:
  • Still had a couple slip ups with the diet coke
  • Didn't run....
  • Forgot to take my "before" picture... oops (I don't look any different - just tanner) Will do that tonight!
  • Hating my hair and not sure what to do about it.... The color and length are really blah right now
I never realized how boring this blog was going to be. I'm going to start taking pictures on my workouts or something!!

Day 2

Today was day 2 without coke zero... I'm living but tired.... I had an iced tea with Splenda at lunch today and it just wasn't the same!

I also decided to grab some sunless tanner since being tan always makes me feel thinner. (I gave up tanning beds years ago.)

I'm really loving these Loreal Sublime towelettes. They are so easy to use and one is all you need for your whole body and face!

My workout consisted of walking around the mall with Trey and some mom friends. Hoping to get in a run tomorrow!!

Day 1: Good Bye Dear Friend.....

It's a sad, sad day in the Beach Bum household.

Today is the day I'm breaking up with Diet Coke & Coke Zero. My long time loves.

Given the choice of wine or coke zero on a Friday night the choice was simple. Coke Zero. Just ask J. She knows all about my obsession. And I'm pretty sure she is sad about losing her Coke Zero partner in crime.

But it's not just Friday and Saturday nights that I find myself dying for a large tervis of ice and my favorite 0 calorie caffeinated beverage. It's every weekday at 3pm, every dinner, all the time basically. And it has to stop.

I know if I am going to get healthy, show Trey good influences and kick some of this weight to the curb it's time. So long my love.
I thought this was hilarious! Because, yes, that's how I felt some days!

It's time for this mama to make the switch to these types of drinks. Permanently.

100 Days

100 days until my birthday

102 days until my 5th wedding anniversary

115 days until Trey's first birthday

And I'm determined not to hide from the camera for any of these events.

I've let myself go to say the least. I've easily become the mom that wears yoga pants and sweats with her hair in a ponytail. Too easily.

I'm too comfortable.

It's time for a 180 and that's what this new little blog will be all about. It's just for my personal record and to keep myself accountable but you can follow along if you like. And if not, that's ok too!

I'll still be posting about Trey, cake pops, shopping & fun over at Beach Bum and Baby.

But here on 100 Days to 30 I'll be working out, eating healthy, and overall just working on a total "mom" transformation.

Because it's time. I need to do this for me.
